About Liz

My name is Liz and I am 31 years old. I currently work and live in Austin, Texas, where I explore my culinary talents and curiosities on a daily basis. I recently became a mother and plan on making some baby food in the near future, which will hopefully be featured on this site as well.

I like good eating, but more importantly, I LOVE to cook. For me, cooking is a therapeutic event; it is my getaway, so to speak. I enjoy the tedious steps involved in the process of cooking/baking and I also enjoy writing. What I enjoy the most though, is sharing my food with family and friends. If I can share the food, why not share the recipe, too?

My background in cooking started at a very young age. I grew up in a big family and learned the basics of cooking from my parents and grandparents. When I was in graduate school, I had the privilege of working in a gourmet restaurant as a sous chef under Master Chef John Lopez. As a result, I learned some of the most valuable skills that allowed me to expand my knowledge of fine food.

I hope you enjoy my recipes. In the words of Alton Brown, “I bid you good eating.”
